I lied..

... if i say im not nervous. 3 weeks and counting. Mudahan semua berjalan dengan lancar. aminnnn

Alhamdulillah, all the door gifts had been packed and im left with few invitations yet to be sent out, less than 10 to go and im all set, insyaAllah. 

I've also texted all my MUAs today and confirmed the dates, timing and venues =)

All i need now is my nikah dress, a husband to be and an imam and a big family family to be there on the special day. hehe. Will update more soon =)

Wedding invitations on the go.

Alhamdulillah, i've sorted almost 400 wedding invitations and few tens have been delivered since Sunday. Another hundred to go, insyaAllah.  Luckily, the namelists awal2 udah ready since oct/nov last yr, so ani yg tambah2 saja lagi yg kan di type and spare some jemputan kosong (without names) to the extended families, kes nda tau their full name. hehe. With the namelist ready and a printer, 50 paper stickers, a cutting mat and a cutter on my side, alhamdulillah managed to complete the first 300 invitation on day 1 =)

Plan for today? Continue antar the invitation to bandar & tutong, InsyaAllah. Mudahan2 perjalan berjalan lancar today. aminnnn

We just finalized our print out for the invitation cards yesterday. I know, we got 37 days (and that was yesterday) left til the big day, and i have not sorted the invitations yet - everyone was complaining about it. And everyone commented that invitation should be out and distributed already by now. The pressure has reached its limit and i have no choice but to finalized the printing yesterday, without the confirmation of the hall =( 

Discussed with the family and fiance yesterday and its agreed that we opt to go for Plan B. Maybe its not our rezeki this time to use the hall. Waiting for the confirmation of the hall is really painful. I've contacted the management again yesterday and to date they havent got any formal dates yet. Tawakkal to Allah. Decision was made and insyaAllah, mudahan semoga urusan berjalan dengan lancar. Allah has better plans for us =)

Hopefully by next week, the invitations is ready and distribution can start soon. Alhamdulillah, i've prepared the namelist udah few months ago. So once invitations is ready, all we need to do is to stick it to the cards, sort it into categories - extended families, colleagues, ex colleagues, zone areas & districts. By sorting it into categories, insyaAllah it will be easier to distribute nanti. Aminnn.

The room is now ready but the furniture is not in yet. Received a call 2 days ago from the vendor.

"Vendor: Hello mIss. 

Me: Hello.

Vendor: This is from xxx furniture. 

Me: Oh yes, u kah yg call dr tadi? Sorry i was in a meeting. kenapa tu? (saw the screen with 3 mc)

Vendor: Sorry ah miss, boleh saya punya org deliver your furniture on saturday? Our truck full sudah mau hantar byk barang today. Saya takut itu truck penuh, nanti saya kasi masuk kita punya barang nanti rosak. 

Me: Apa pasal penuh. Last week kita org kasi tau mau hantar hari ini bah. 

Vendor: Itulah kami orang ada 2 truck saja, itu pasal saya mau runding sama kita, saya punya org hantar on saturday pasal saya mau hantar itu barang utk urg cina for CNY. 

Me: bah ok lah, u kasi hantar on Monday saja. Saturday tidak ada org dirumah. 

Vendor: Ok. saya punya org kasi antar kita punya barang morning lah. Thannk you. 

Me: OK. 

Did u realized, everytime we speak to other people, we tend to ikut cara urg atu becakap. Klu chinese jadi slang chinese, klu india gerenti jadi slang india. Weird isnt it? Tapi mcm tebiasa sudah. mcm penyeluru ada jua. hehe.


At least i have one thing that im not worried about - the room.

DIY - Part Two

Yayness! Another post for tonight =)


I've promised to post an entry for the invitation cards, but regretfully its not been finalized yet. InsyaAllah once we gave them the 'green light' this week, they'll start printing both of our cards. I've yet to proof-read and look at the draft. Once we are happy with the draft, the invitation cards will be ready in less than 2 weeks and we can start with the distribution.


Last October i've engaged 2 regional vendors to quote me on the wedding invitations. Me, having to share most of the brides to be fantasy.. hehe, was very determined to get the hard copy invitations. Both vendor quote at a very different price, one being very pricey and another boleh tahan lah (when i said boleh tahan, i actual meant tempted banar tah udah tu. huhu). 


Why boleh tahan? Coz they offered us a very attractive price PLUS a free thank you cards and plastic cover for every cards. For more than 600 cards, they'll print extra 50 cards for you. They even make special design for you, and customized the size of the cards to meet your requirement, say al wakil terlampau byk, they wont stick with the standard size but will proposed a size to make your invitation look purrfecttt! Which also means one thing, "One and only design for you". Atu jua nda tempted bah. Saya amatlah tempted.


After a few discussions with the fiance (few being 2-3 weeks or almost a month kali), the proposal was rejected =(. Initially he agreed, but when the price and the shipping costs were revealed , its a NO-NO! The fiance kept on reminding me not to spend too much on wedding invitations. "let use that money on more important things than cards." 


Luluhnya hati beta, huhu. So we, (i meant me) came back to reality and we start surveying for our invitation cards at the local printers company. Sungguh saya terkejut when we went to one of this local shop, he quoted us the same price for a one piece of soft card, where i can get the exact same price for my 'dream hardcopy invitation cards + ribbons + hot stamping + embossed + the thank you + plastic cover'. Shocking! Coz dulu harga invitation cards sana not as pricey as now. Me being me, buat muka penyeluru and konon confident lah that we can proceed to print our cards arah my first choice - regional printers, sekali nda kana layan. haha. But he was determined that we can get a good reasonable price at other local shops. Again, punah harapan beta. 


Dengan penuh sabar setelah men-surveyed cards in Miri, KK and seluruh brunei, Alhamdulillah, we finally found what we wanted =) He did made his point and gave me a smile. A reasonable price indeed. Im blessed with a very calm lovable fiance who always reminds me of everything. Thank you Sayang, sabar itu separuh dari iman =)

Here's the DIY invitation cards that i made for our Berian & Akad Nikah. Since we didnt get to print the cards that i wanted, and insert cards are quite pricey here, we decided to make our own cards for Berian & Akad Nikah dan Berbedak. Whats more exciting? I'll be making his cards too =D
